Lloyd’s appoints new Market Relations Manager for Germany and Austria

Lloyd’s, the world’s leading specialist insurance market, today announced the appointment of its first Market Relations Manager for Germany and Austria.

Volker Eutebach, who joined Lloyd’s on 1 December, will be based in Frankfurt, working closely with the Lloyd’s legal representatives for Germany and Austria. His primary responsibility in this brand new role will be to assist Lloyd’s syndicates and managing agents in building relationships with insurance buyers and intermediaries in the German and Austrian markets. He will also be tasked with informing local buyers and brokers about Lloyd’s, and the benefits of doing business with the Lloyd’s market.

Before joining Lloyd’s Volker was Senior Marine Underwriter at ACE European Group in Frankfurt. Prior to that he spent 11 years as a broker with Aon and Marsh. During his tenure at Marsh he held the position of Regional Head of Marine in the Risk Management department.

Germany is Europe's second largest domestic non-life market, behind the UK and ahead of France, and the fourth largest in the world, after the US, Japan and the UK. Total non-life gross premiums written amounted to EUR 58.8bn (USD 75bn) in 2007.
