Sean McGovern was appointed Head of Legal at Lloyd’s in April 2000 and is now Director & General Counsel. He is responsible for legal issues at Lloyd’s and leads Lloyd's regulatory activities around the world. He is also responsible for developing Lloyd's relationships with managing agents and brokers.

Sean is a Director of Lloyd’s Reinsurance Company China Limited. He is also a non-executive Director of Xchanging Insurance Services Limited, which provides processing services to the London Insurance Market. Prior to joining Lloyd’s Sean was with Clifford Chance in London. He holds a degree in law from Manchester University.
