Lloyd's has become aware, following a number of enquiries from Iranian citizens, that documentation purportedly issued by a firm called Gamma Company Limited and/or Gamma Network International Company Limited ("Gamma") with an address of 1-2 Universal House, 88-94 Wentwoth Street, London E1 7SA represents that it has an association with Lloyd's and/or that its products are insured by or at Lloyd's.
Consumers should be warned that no association between Lloyd's and Gamma exists. Similarly, Gamma does not and has never held any authority from Lloyd's or Lloyd's underwriters to bind or accept insurance business or issue insurance documentation for its products.
A representative of Gamma has confirmed that the documentation issued is fraudulent and has further advised that this matter is under investigation by representatives of Gamma within Iran.
Anyone who is approached by parties purporting an association between Gamma and Lloyd's, or purporting to be able arrange insurance cover for Gamma with Lloyd's underwriters, should contact us via the e-mail address: chris.baker@lloyds.com enclosing copies of any documentation received.
