Tony began his career in the General Insurance practice of Bacon & Woodrow and remained there through its absorption into Deloitte in 2001.
In his ten years of consulting he performed a range of actuarial work and provided broader business advice, before taking the lead in developing Deloitte's Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA) capability. In 2003 he moved to Aviva plc to lead their Risk Based Capital (RBC) project, and took responsibility for regulatory economic capital for the Aviva group.
He has been at the FSA since March 2006, initially as Chief Actuary (General Insurance) and has been Head of Wholesale Insurance Firms since October 2007.
