Lloyd’s Environmental Working Group meets quarterly and includes representatives from our main suppliers to report on progress against the annual Environmental Action Plan and to discuss further initiatives.
- Our facilities management company, ISS Coflex, were awarded a Gold Award in the City of London’s Clean City Awards for the work they did on recycling and environmental issues at Lloyd’s during 2008.
- Our 2008 cleaning contract was awarded to company that was able to demonstrate good sustainability practices.
- During 2008, Avenance – the in-house caterer – switched all the food packaging in the Lloyd’s Building to biodegradable packaging.
- We also worked with Avenance to replace bottled water in the building with tap water filtered and bottled on site.
- A promotion of eco-friendly stationery with our stationery supplier, Acorn, also took place with the result that the amount of recycled or recyclable stationery increased to over 60%.
