Documents issued by 'Wanless-Goodnight Insurance' or 'Debra Wanless'

Consumer alerts Consumer alert regarding Wanless-Goodnight Insurance or Debra Wanless. 18 May 2011.

Debra Wanless of the Goodnight Insurance Agency in Nokomis, Florida, is alleged to have sold fictitious insurance policies to homeowners, particularly in mobile home parks, in or around Sarasota County and Charlotte County, Florida, a number of which named Lloyd’s as the insurer.  No authority was provided by underwriters at Lloyd's to Ms. Wanless’ or the Goodnight Insurance Agency’s activities to issue these policies.

Lloyd’s has been working with the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services (“DFS”) to identify homeowners who have fictitious policies that appear to have been issued by underwriters at Lloyd's, and to let them know that they need to obtain a valid replacement insurance policy as soon as possible.

If you have a homeowner’s insurance policy that you obtained from Ms. Wanless or Goodnight Insurance Agency purporting to be a Lloyd’s policy, please contact the DFS Consumer Services Division at (877) 693-5236 or (850) 413-3089, or file a complaint online.  The DFS will coordinate with Lloyd’s to determine the status of your policy.   If your policy is determined to be fictitious, you will need to obtain replacement insurance as soon as possible.
