17th Annual Spanish Insurance Week
Lloyd's event – 3 March 2010
The 17th Annual Spanish Insurance Week will be hosted by INESE in Madrid, at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos, from 2 to 4 March 2010. With more than 2,000 attendees, this yearly event is considered to be the key industry insurance event in Spain. It provides an opportunity for brokers, insurers, consultants, risk managers and other professionals in the insurance industry to discuss key trends and developments in today's insurance market.

Lloyd's will participate in 2010 by hosting its own event on the 3 March 2010. This will include:

• There will be a Spanish Wine cocktail reception following the conference.
• Replica of the Lloyd’s Underwriting Room with more than 30 'boxes' available for Managing Agents, Lloyd’s Brokers and Coverholders to meet and network with the local insurance market. Lloyd’s Iberia will help facilitate these meetings.

Lloyd’s co-sponsor the first leaders insurance meeting, organised by the Intermediary Association of Barcelona, in conjunction with MEDIARIO, which will be celebrated within the framework of the “XXXV World Insurance Week” in the Auditori of Barcelona.
More than 800 insurance mediators, representing the insurance sector, will discuss the principal issues of the sector. Intermediaries can pose live questions through Internet to eight insurance executives in a dynamic discussion. Subsequently Jordi Pujol, former Chairman of the Generalitat de Catalunya will be interviewed. Topics will include, among others, leadership and finance. Before the final cocktail, the traditional award ceremony of the Insurance Association will be held.

Lloyd’s co-sponsor the XV Conference on Renewal for 2010 held in Madrid on 12th November 2010. It will be opened by Mr. Ricardo Lozano (Director General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones, Spanish Regulator) and Mr. Ignacio Martínez Baroja (Chairman of AGERS).
Topics will include: reinsurance, financial risks, environmental liability, property, motor, professional liability and insurance ratings evolution.
