Japan: New Lloyd’s representative

Lloyd’s has appointed Iain Ferguson as Lloyd’s General Representative in Japan and Chief Operating Officer of Lloyd’s Japan Inc. The appointments take effect from 1 January 2008.

Iain replaces Robin Maynard as Lloyd’s General Representative, who is stepping
down after many years in the position. Lloyd’s extends its sincere thanks to Robin
and wishes him the very best for the future.

Iain joins Lloyd’s from Royal & SunAlliance, latterly as Group Operations Director
based in London and previously as Chief Executive Officer of Royal and SunAlliance Japan (based in Japan). He has lived in Japan for 11 years and speaks fluent Japanese.

Iain’s appointment forms part of Lloyd’s plan to restructure Lloyd’s Japan Inc. into a flexible, open platform, accessible to the whole Lloyd’s market. This will require
extensive negotiations with the Japanese Financial Services Authority (JFSA). Lloyd’s International Market Access and International Markets and Business Development are working with Iain on this and we will keep you updated on progress.
