This page allows us to show case the type of projects which the Brand Strategy team are currently working on and those projects which have successfully been delivered.
Here is a short interview with our French representative, Anne-Gaëlle Leillard about the latest refrubishment in the Lloyd's Paris office.
Why did you decide to have the Paris office refurbished?
As our office is one of the main offices in Europe, we felt that it was important it reflected the Lloyd's identity. Our office receives many visitors and we felt it was a priority to create a positive first impression which was both professional and modern.
How long did the project take? How effective was the process?
The project from start to finish took about six months. The process was very effective as we worked well with our designers. We gave them the brand guidelines to work with and openly discussed concepts and ideas.
What were the challenges?
We are a small team and because of that I was involved in all aspects of the project. This demanded a lot of my time as well as the team's. Due to the scale of the work that we wanted done, we also had to move out of the office space for seven weeks. We knew there was great potential in our office, with tall ceilings and lots of natural daylight. We are very proud and pleased with our new office and all feel that it was definitely worth it.
How were your staff involved in the project?
Everyone was involved in the project, it was a team exercise and the ideal opportunity to embark on a fresh start. Our new office not only represented our new identity but our values and the way we work.
How important do you think it is for you and your staff to work in an environment which reflects the Lloyd's brand?
We now work in a modern, open space that has clean design lines which is a huge difference from our original space which was very dark. I think it has also given us a good reason to review how we work, challenge our routines and look at things differently.
How important do you think it is for your business to have a modern and contemporary office space?
First impressions are very important to us as we have French brokers, Lloyd's brokers/underwriters visiting our office. We are very marketing focused. We felt that before there was a large gap between our external communications and our environment. Now we feel we can project a more consistent image.
What is your favourite feature/item in your new space?
I particularly like our 'social' area with our two sofas and our large Lloyd's graphic panel - this area is proving to be really useful. I also like the glass partition in my office. It is the only partition we have and I think the glass represents the transparency in the business that we do.
What would be your advice to your colleagues who were also considering a similar project?
I would say that if you are embarking on a project such as this I would really try not to just consider the cosmetic changes, really challenge the habits of the team and the space that is on offer. I would definitely recommend having an open space. I think you should get really involved with the designers and the brand team, offer your opinion, be positive and most of all have fun.
