Flood Risk Tool

Welcome to the flood risk tool.  

Lloyd’s flood risk assessment tool is a sophisticated web-based application, which provides flood risk analysis with additional mapping functionality.

This tool will allow Lloyd’s Managing Agents to have a more sophisticated understanding of the level of flood risk within their insured portfolios and, subsequently, to better manage their portfolios over time.

The portfolio analysis will be available on a quarterly basis, however, the application will also permit flood risk assessments for individual risk queries in real-time.

This tool provides Lloyd’s Managing Agents with three main outputs in terms of flood portfolio analysis as follows:

Flood Summary Report: an enhanced portfolio flood report which provides information for the portfolio such as data quality analysis, portfolio TIV, calculated exposure, and flood hazard mapping by river catchment in England and Wales.

Google Earth View: a 3D visual illustration of syndicate flood exposure, aggregated to river catchment level, to enable the syndicate to gain a feel for the geographical distribution of flood risks.  The Google Earth interface allows the user to navigate to each catchment and interactively query its exposure by simply clicking on the area of interest. Exposures are displayed using towers the height of which represents the exposure value in each catchment. A continuous colour schema is used to represent the change in exposure value.

CSV file: a detailed file containing source input portfolio data and output NaFRA flood grading.
