Lloyd's will be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) and its Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the members of Lloyd's on Wednesday 21 May 2008

The EGM will commence at 10.00 and the AGM at 12.00. There will be a short break between the two meetings. Both the EGM and the AGM will take place in the 1688 Restaurant here at Lloyd's.

The EGM

The EGM has been convened in order for members to consider the following resolution:

"That the Society consents to the proposals for amendments to Lloyd's Act 1982 described in the Consultation Document "Proposals for a Legislative Reform Order to amend Lloyd's Act 1982" published by HM Treasury in March 2008 to be made by an Order of two of the Lords Commissioners of HM Treasury under the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 (a draft of the Order is set out in the Annex to the Consultation Document);

That the Society authorises the Council or a sub-group appointed by it for these purposes to consider and agree to any variations to those proposals."

The AGM

The AGM has been convened in order for members to consider the following resolution:

"That the Society of Lloyd's Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2007 have been examined and the Society of Lloyd's 2007 Annual Report received."

The 2007 Annual Report was published on 3 April 2008 and is available at www.lloyds.com/2007results

EGM and AGM documentation

Documentation relating to both meetings was posted to members on 16 April 2008. Should a member have any questions on the arrangements for the meetings they should call the EGM/AGM Helpline which is available from 17 April to 20 May 2008 inclusive and will be open from 09.00 until 17.00 on weekdays, except the Bank Holiday on Monday 5 May 2008.
