Lloyd's announces Council election results

Lloyd’s, the world’s specialist insurance market, has today announced the results of the ballot to elect three working members to the Council of Lloyd’s.
Graham White has been re-elected to the Council for a further term of three years. Simon Beale, Underwriting Director at Amlin London, and Lawrence Holder, Managing Director of Cathedral Underwriting, have both been elected for terms of three and two years respectively.
Following his re-election, Graham White, who is also the Chairman of Argenta Private Capital Ltd, was re-appointed as the Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s.
Lloyd’s Chairman John Nelson said:
“I am pleased to welcome Simon Beale and Lawrence Holder as new members of Council and now that Graham White has been re-elected he will continue to serve as Deputy Chairman. All these appointments bring to the role invaluable experience of Lloyd’s and the insurance market.”
The Council of Lloyd's has ultimate responsibility for the management and supervision of the Lloyd’s market.
Notes to Editors:
- In accordance with Lloyd’s Byelaws, votes for the working vacancies have been calculated on a one man, one vote basis (i.e. each working member of the Society had one vote for each of the three vacancies).
- The Council has six working, six external and six nominated members and all new appointments are subject to approval by the Financial Services Authority.
- As from 8 February, 2012, the Council of Lloyd's will consist of the following members:
