Lloyd's in Singapore

Lloyd’s Asia is located in Singapore. Over the past ten years, Lloyd’s Asia has grown exponentially from three businesses in 2005, with a GWP of US$46m, to 18 service companies today that underwrote around US$330m of GWP in 2010. These businesses operate through 21 syndicates and employ over 250 people.

There are no regulatory restrictions over whom Lloyd’s Asia underwriters can do business with, because Lloyd’s Asia underwriters are established local service companies and may deal directly with clients, brokers and agents (local and foreign).

We have relocated

To support Lloyd’s Asia’s ambitions and growth as a regional trading centre, we relocated to new offices within Singapore’s financial district at the beginning of November 2011.

At almost double the size of One George Street, our new office at Asia Square provides us with 65,000 square feet of space, spread across two contiguous floors.

The layout and design of the new offices are intended to replicate Lloyd’s headquarters in London, which supports the notion of encouraging a ‘market’ environment, where we hope to see more companies and ceding companies visiting and walking the floor.

A sustainable new working environment

Located in the downtown area of the Marine Bay, One Asia square boasts award winning green credentials, including the largest solar PV panels of any building in Singapore. The solar panels will generate a combined total of 270,000 kWh of free electricity every year.

Asia Square has won top awards in environmental sustainability, such as the Green Mark Platinum award from the Building Conservation Authority of Singapore for its energy efficiency, indoor environment quality, water efficiency and regenerative materials and resources.
