Companies that decide to join as members are showing commitment to our neighbouring communities and to supporting employees who want to volunteer to make a difference.
Members have access to all of Lloyd's Community Programme's volunteer activities, including popular team challenges and lunchtime school programmes.
Information about the volunteer opportunities available can be found under the Aiming Higher, Helping Hands, Sporting Chances and Words and Numbers sections. Members make an annual discretionary charitable donation to Lloyd's Community Programme.
This membership income is used to support local community organisations such as Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership, who facilitate Lloyd's Community Programme volunteer involvement in schools in Tower Hamlets.
A survey undertaken amongst LCP volunteers in January 2011 showed that 97% of volunteers felt positive about the volunteer project they had been involved in and 98% would recommend it to a colleague.
Lloyd's Community Programme is run by the Community Affairs team at the Corporation of Lloyd's - consisting of Hannah Payson and Natalie Tickle, headed up by Vicky Mirfin.
The team work with member companies to help them promote volunteer opportunities to their employees by providing marketing materials, info and undertaking in-house presentations where required.
The team takes care of the recruitment and training of volunteers and then matches the volunteers with appropriate opportunities.
We also advise on health and safety, insurance and volunteer policies as well as making sure CRB checks are completed where relevant.
We keep your volunteers informed about new opportunities, further training and make sure they are invited to our annual volunteers' event to recognise their contribution along with the other volunteers from the Lloyd's Market.
Lloyd's Community Programme is overseen by a management board made up of senior figures involved in the Lloyd's Market and is currently chaired by Nick Furlonge, Director, Beazley.
