Brighter Futures for Londoners is Lloyd's Charities Trust's flagship project - a partnership with Bromley by Bow Centre and Prince's Trust. We will be supporting these charities for the next three years and are therefore not inviting new proposals for funding.
If you work within the Lloyd’s market and would like to apply for an award on behalf of a charity of importance to you, please click the link for details of Lloyd's Market Charity Awards.

From 2010, to maximise the impact of Lloyd's Charities Trust, all the donations and grants we make will fall within one or more of the following areas:
London: making a great city greater
Lloyd's is proud to be one of London's great historic institutions, and makes charitable donations in two ways to make a difference at a local level:
Our city: Lloyd’s Charities Trust funds charities and organisations seeking to address some of the key issues facing London. We recognise that we work in a great city where there are opportunities for many, but where disadvantage still exists and the rate of income poverty is the highest in the country.
How do we achieve this? Brighter Futures for Londoners is a new three-year partnership between Lloyd’s Charities Trust and Prince’s Trust which aims to provide advice, training and support to help disadvantaged Londoners overcome the challenges they face and seize opportunities for a better future.
The City: Lloyd's has done business in the City of London for over 300 years, and today the market employs thousands of people within the immediate area surrounding the Lloyd’s Building. Lloyd’s Charities Trust supports the charitable endeavours of the City as a whole and the people who work in the Lloyd’s market in particular.
How do we achieve this? We make donations to support the collective efforts of the City to address charitable issues in the UK and overseas. And anyone who works in the Lloyd's market can apply for a donation to a charity or community organisation in which they are actively involved through the Lloyd’s Market Charity Awards scheme.
Responding to disasters and emergencies
All over the world, Lloyd's helps policyholders to cope with crises and catastrophes of varying kinds. But we are well aware that, particularly in developing countries, not every disaster or emergency is covered by insurance. Lloyd’s Charities Trust supports efforts to relieve suffering and help people rebuild their lives, in the face of disaster.
How do we achieve this? We make donations in response to emergency and disaster situations – in countries where we do business and in those where people can't afford the safeguard of insurance.
Preparing for the future
In an uncertain and fast-changing world, the Lloyd’s market offers insight and financial protection to help organisations prepare for what may be round the corner. Lloyd’s Charities Trust supports charities and projects which will help individuals and communities around the world prepare for the challenges of the future - for example, by equipping them with valuable skills, information or resources they need.
How do we achieve this? Brighter Futures for Londoners is a new three-year partnership between Lloyd’s Charities Trust and Prince’s Trust which aims to provide advice, training and support to help disadvantaged Londoners overcome the challenges they face and seize opportunities for a better future.
