Departments
The Corporation of Lloyd’s is made up of six main directorates. Each directorate contains a number of departments and each has specific responsibilities.
Corporate Services
The Director of Corporate Services is Richard Ward. This directorate comprises a number of departments with various responsibilities, including Human Resources, Internal Audit, Corporate Communications (helping to promote Lloyd’s), Council Secretariat (assisting with managing corporate governance) and Strategy and Business Planning.
Finance, Risk Management and Operations
The Finance, Risk Management and Operations Director is Luke Savage. This directorate is responsible for ensuring all necessary steps are taken to maintain the Society in a sound financial position. This incorporates the proper and efficient use of the Society’s own resources, both in furthering the commercial interests of the members of the Society and conserving Lloyd’s own assets.
International Markets
The Director of International Markets is Jose Ribeiro. International Markets is responsible for promoting the Lloyd’s market across the globe, seeking new business opportunities and monitoring the development of emerging markets. The Directorate also manages Lloyd’s international operations.
Market Operations
The Director of Market Operations is Sue Langley. This directorate focuses on initiatives to improve the market’s competitiveness and modernise the ways of working. Current key projects are: The Exchange, Lloyd’s Information and Reporting, Future Processing Model, and Coverholder Initiatives.
North America and General Counsel
The Director of North America & General Counsel is Sean McGovern. This directorate is responsible for Lloyd’s legal, international regulatory and government affairs. It is also responsible for Lloyd’s relationship with managing agents and for Lloyd’s operations in the US and Canada.
Performance Management
The Director of Performance Management is Tom Bolt. This directorate is responsible for working with individual Lloyd's businesses to improve the commercial performance of the market. This includes reviewing syndicates’ performance to ensure that the level of risk to the overall market and its mutual assets is acceptable, and ensuring that the new underwriting and service guidelines for franchisees are adhered to.
