Policyholders
Lloyd's is a world famous market and one of the best known brands in insurance. This brings advantages but it can also attract the wrong kind of attention - from fraudsters and other criminals who can sometimes seek to gain financial advantage through fraudulent misuse of the Lloyd's name.
How do I verify my Lloyd's insurance or check my policy number?
There are hundreds of thousands of policies written at Lloyd's. Thankfully, fraudulent policies are extremely rare. They do, however, exist - as unscrupulous people attempt to take advantage of the Lloyd's name.
In the first instance, you should always contact the firm or individual that sold you the insurance to get information about your policy or make changes to it.
If you have a policy that you are concerned about, the International Regulatory Risk team can help by giving you an independent verification of your policy. We can act on your behalf, making enquiries of the relevant brokers and underwriters to ensure that your documentation is legitimate and that the risk covered is in fact insured in the Lloyd's market.
The first step is to
complete the policy check request form
. We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. The full investigation will normally take longer, depending on the details you give us.
