Market Finance is made up of the following teams:
Taxation
Headed by: Juliet Phillips
Responsibility: Tax compliance and planning within the Corporation and representing the interests of the Lloyd's market with UK and overseas authorities on tax issues affecting members and syndicates.
Treasury
Headed by: Stuart Simpson
Responsibility: Providing investment management and foreign exchange services to the Corporation and the Lloyd’s market, as well as management of key banking relationships for the market.
Market Finance & Funding
Headed by: Jyoti Jiwani
Responsibility: Developing solutions for capital flexibility, managing banking relationships and negotiating facilities, monitoring market liquidity, capital adequacy and asset risk.
Accounting Policy
Headed by: Paul Appleton
Responsibility: Development and advancement of accounting policy at Lloyd's. This includes planning and managing the implementation and impact of the EU solvency II capital regime with regard to the Lloyd's market and its capital providers; and evaluating and assessing the impact of changes to policies under UK GAAP and IFRS.
UK Reporting
Headed by: Robert Smith, Manager, UK Reporting
Responsibility: To ensure that the Lloyd's franchise is maintained and protected by conducting and fulfilling all of Lloyd's UK solvency and reporting obligations to the required standards.
UK Reporting aims to provide an efficient cost effective pro-active service to (and on behalf of) the Lloyd's market.
UK Reporting is structured into two areas:
- Solvency, who administer solvency tests and determine the rules relating to the valuation of assets and liabilities for solvency membership requirements thereby protecting the interests of both policyholders and the members.
- Market Information, responsible for developing and managing the interim and year-end annual account reporting process, producing Lloyd's global results and the Financial Services Authority return and providing statistical information.
Overseas Reporting
Headed by: Leslie Redmond, Manager, Overseas Reporting
Responsibility: To ensure that the Lloyd's franchise is maintained and protected by ensuring that all of Lloyd's overseas regulatory reporting requirements are met to the required audit and regulatory requirements and within the deadlines.
