The financial processing team is primarily responsible for ensuring that authorised transactions are properly processed and recorded including cash payments, purchase and sales ledgers. Management of the organisation’s procurement function is performed primarily in Chatham with integral links to the expenditure supplier management team operating in London.
STFO are responsible for: the operation of Lloyd's Central Accounting system, overseeing the day to day operation of the Lloyd's U.S. and Canadian Dollar Trust Funds, plus the Lloyd's/Citibank Letter of Credit Scheme and operating the Worldlink third party payment system

The primary function of the Business and Application Support team is to provide application support and maintenance to the core financial systems and to ensure timely investigation and resolutions are provided within the agreed service levels. The team is also responsible for the management and delivery of the IT related projects utilising the Lloyd's Project Management Framework.

Expenditure Supplier Management
The expenditure and supplier management team provides advice and guidance to Lloyd's departments on procurement 'best practice'. E&SM also provide the principal point of contact for the management of the XIS Agreement and Lloyd's service level reporting to the market via the LMA.

The overseas operations team is responsible for establishing and improving the internal financial controls of the overseas subsidiary companies and branches including financial policies, compliance with the Overseas Network Control Framework, the preparation and monitoring of budgets, monthly management accounts, and statutory accounts of our overseas operations. Additionally the overseas team liaise with overseas offices on a number of operational, funding, and other issues.

The financial accounting team is primarily responsible for establishing and improving the internal financial controls of the Society of Lloyd's including financial policies, the preparation and monitoring of budgets and monthly management accounts at the business unit level. Financial Accounting also advises the market on members' subscription and Central Fund contributions.

The financial reporting team prepares the monthly management accounts for the Society (Corporation, Central Fund, Centrewrite and all subsidiaries) and the Society’s published financial statements. In addition, the team is responsible for the preparation of management and statutory accounts of a number of entities including the Lloyd’s Pension Scheme, Lloyd’s charities and market associations.

The Hardship Scheme was created in 1989, Income & Housing support in 1996 and more recently Limited Financial Assistance Arrangement to assist Names who had reduced means as a result of high underwriting losses. There is a total of 986 members in the Schemes, with some 243 legal charges placed on Names properties and 117 Names have trust funds from which they derive an income.
The are 3 members of staff in Hardship whose responsibilities are to monitor the terms of each of the above Agreements that Lloyd’s have entered into with Names. These Agreements may involve the assignment of various assets ie properties, investments, cash accounts etc and where possible negotiate early termination of the agreement.

The Payroll team is primarily responsible for managing the payroll requirements for staff employed by the Corporation. Other payroll responsibilities include Lloyd’s Japan Inc, Lloyd’s Market Association, Centrewrite, Lloyd’s Council, Board & Committee members and Centrewrite Directors. The payroll team are also responsible for payments made to Lloyd’s Pensioners and for beneficiaries of the Income & Housing Support Scheme.
The team are also responsible for the administration of the Corporation’s insurance policies. The Corporation has a range of insurance policies including Property Damage & Business Continuity, Employer’s Liability, Public Liability, Fine Arts and Personal Accident & Business Travel.

The Control & Review team ensures that systems of control are in place to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of accounting and reporting of the Corporation, subsidiaries and other financial reporting. Control & Review works toward mitigating operational risks within Financial Control.
