What is it like to work here?
Lloyd’s has an atmosphere unlike any other business.

How do we work?
In a word, uniquely. When we were first founded, business was always conducted face-to-face. And that continues to this day. Collaboration is encouraged here wherever you work, and we always prefer to talk through an issue in person. We think it’s a much more effective and enjoyable way of working.
Beneath this, however, lies the beating heart of a distinctively modern business. We became the world’s leading specialist insurance market, after all, by embracing things others would not. We are not anxious about trying something new – whether it be exploring an emerging market or developing technology to map risk hotspots in 3D. Nor are we afraid to fly in the face of common practice if it will improve us as an organisation.
Finally, we enjoy challenges. More than that. We thrive on them. We’re not afraid of making tough decisions or tackling big issues. Nor are we shy about suggesting a new or radical way of doing things. We love fresh ideas, and we look forward to hearing a few of yours.
What about outside of work?
Good point. While we certainly try to enjoy everything we do while we’re at work, we also believe that work isn’t the only thing life has to offer. There will be times you’ll work hard, undoubtedly; but equally, we don’t have a culture of long hours.
There’s also a lively social scene in many areas. There are many different social groups, sports teams and even language clubs that organise events and trips. And of course, there are a number of excellent bars and restaurants in the area for something a little more unplanned.
