This is a generalist programme designed to stretch and broaden the very sharpest minds – and help you benefit from the extraordinary variety of activity that goes on at Lloyd’s.

Broadly, you’ll tackle three to four projects and placements across both the Corporation and the market, spending up to six months in each. Over eighteen months you’ll see first-hand how business is brought to Lloyd's, how underwriters price a risk and how new insurance products are developed. You’ll also gain an overview of Lloyd’s, the global insurance industry and business in general.

What will you experience?
Placements within the Corporation will give you a panoramic view of Lloyd’s as a whole, and offer insights into many different areas. Time spent in the market, meanwhile, will teach you a great deal about how underwriting actually works, open your eyes to the different cultures of the managing agents, and give you a taste of the pace and energy with which business is conducted. There may also be opportunities to work with Lloyd’s brokers to see how they work with underwriters to ensure their client’s risks are covered.

Your involvement
You’ll pit your talent against several placements and projects. You’ll tackle real-time issues and offer real-life solutions. You’ll also work alongside – and learn from – experts in many different fields.

Crucially, you’ll also develop your own expertise. Our programme – through the training, development and exposure on offer – will give you robust business skills, specialist insurance knowledge, and a variety of qualities that will stand you in good stead however you choose to develop your career.

Furthermore, you’ll have the chance to network and build relationships with graduates from other schemes within the industry - either at managing agents or brokers. We will also provide you with opportunities to hear speakers from other areas of the industry, focusing on different industry challenges or career paths.
